Dental Fillings

Renew your tooth structure, revitalize your well-being

Maintaining robust teeth is crucial for overall health. Unfortunately, the functionality, integrity, and shape of a tooth can deteriorate over time. Our dental fillings are designed to address issues like cavities, cracked or fractured teeth, and teeth that have succumbed to wear and tear.

Whether you’re dealing with the consequences of a nail-biting habit, a bothersome cavity behind a canine tooth, or a chipped tooth resulting from an accident, we’re here to provide assistance. Additionally, benefit from the peace of mind that comes with our 5-year warranty on all dental fillings.

When is a dental filling required?

The unmistakable indicators of tooth decay, such as pain or sensitivity around the affected area, serve as a warning for both you and your dentist to address issues like cavities, cracked teeth, or teeth that have been excessively worn. To pinpoint a cavity, we conduct a series of diagnostic tests, including (but not limited to):

  1. Visual assessment
  2. Probing/palpation
  3. X-rays

These assessments guide us in formulating a diagnosis and treatment plan. For minor cavities, a wait -and-see approach might be recommended. However, larger and more painful cavities or those in hard-to-reach areas often necessitate a filling.

Treating a cavity with a filling involves the removal of decayed tooth structure, followed by the placement of a filling that seals the void, safeguarding your tooth against further decay.

What types of fillings are available? In our clinic, we provide two main types of fillings: white fillings, which are natural-looking and durable, and silver fillings made from amalgam. Composite fillings, crafted with composite resin, blend seamlessly with tooth color and typically last three to ten years.

What to anticipate during a dental filling procedure:

  1. Your dentist will administer local anesthesia to numb the area. Following this brief injection, you should not feel any discomfort.
  2. The tooth cavity or old filling will be thoroughly cleaned, eliminating all decayed tooth structure.
  3. The dental filling is then custom-designed and placed into the cavity, effectively shielding your tooth from future decay.
  4. Finally, your dentist will polish the filling, ensuring a smooth and well-shaped surface. A bite test will be conducted to confirm that the new filling aligns correctly with the opposing teeth.
